Portland Police Bureau– 09/13/12
As officers were enroute they received additional information that there may have been shots fired and a man hit with gunfire. The witness reported that the suspect rode away on a bicycle.
Officers arrived and located the victim, a 28-year-old male, who told officers that he was not shot but cut himself during a struggle with the suspect.
The victim told police that he was seated on the westside of the platform waiting for the MAX train when the suspect rode up on a bicycle. The victim told police that the suspect wanted to listen to the victim’s headphones and when the victim refused, the suspect pulled a handgun and fired shots towards the victim and surrounding area. The victim grabbed onto the suspect and they struggled to the ground, where the victim suffered an arm injury not from gunfire.
The suspect got up and left the area on a bicycle.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-20s, wearing a white t-shirt and shorts, black baseball hat backwards, riding a black BMX bicycle last seen southbound on Southeast 92nd Avenue.
