Yesterday September 14, 2011, the Portland Police Bureau Drugs and Vice Division (DVD) in a joint investigation with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) arrested four people and seized a large quantity of narcotics, money, guns, and property.
DVD and DEA investigators arrested 46-year-old Ricardo Alarcon Castaneda, 37-year-old Julian Castaneda-Alarcon, 40-year-old Minerva Rosas-De Alvalos, and 34-year-old Ivan Sosa-Gascon and charged them with multiple drug felony charges. Their bail is set at $2,000,000 each.
Investigators received information that a large quantity of narcotics would be arriving in Portland.
Investigators seized 28 pound of heroin, 2 pounds of cocaine, $156,000 cash, 6 handguns, 1 rifle, 1 ballistic vest, 2 cars, 1 horse trailer, and 6 saddles after serving 3 search warrants at residences in the Portland Metro area.
It is believed that this is the single biggest drug seizure in Portland Police Bureau history. The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is between $1,500,000 and $2,000,000.
Investigators consider this Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) investigation closed and it is now at the Multnomah District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
All four suspects will be arraigned in Multnomah County Court on Friday.
