Stockton, CA drug dealer sentenced to federal prison

By BNO NewsSACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (BNO NEWS) – A Stockton, California drug dealer was sentenced to 17 years in federal prison for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, prosecutors announced on Monday.Carlos Hernandez, 32, stored approximately five pounds of crystal meth at a house located in Ernie Count, Stockton. The property is owned by Hernandez’ girlfriend and several children reside in it. Such amount of methamphetamine was equivalent to 10,000 dosage units (a unit is 0.25 grams) and had a street value of around $90,000.
The house was identified as a drug storage facility during a long term Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation that involved court ordered wiretaps. This investigation resulted in the arrests of 20 more individuals that are prosecuted in two separate cases.
The long-term sentence was a result of Hernandez’ involvement in the trafficking of large amounts of meth and of subjecting children to the dangers of storing illegal drugs
